Due to the skyrocketing number of downloads of the game application which had reached almost 200 million, it has been announced that the first Angry Birds theme park in Asia will be built in Haining City in Zhejiang Province, China. The site is just near Shanghai so this development is foreseen to be another impeccable reason for many people to travel to China.
According to Rovio Entertainment, the opening of the theme park aims to provide the Chinese people with a new place for leisure and fun. It will serve as a great venue for bonding activities of families and friends, and a great tourist destination. It will feature interactive rides and playgrounds based on the popular application, and shall welcome up to 400 guests. Admission fee is 60 yuan.
Bound to open in time for the Chinese New Year in February, Rovio Entertainment is continuously exhausting its resources for advertisements – aiming to totally infiltrate the Chinese market. Angry Birds posters and merchandises are put in conspicuous areas, including McDonald’s franchises.
This new theme park in China is basically the third of its kind in the world. The first two were built in Sarkanniemi Amusement Park in Tampere, Finland and in Sundown, Adventureland in Nottinghamshire, U.K. However, a small Angry Bird-themed playground has been built beforehand at the Tongji University in Shanghai.
Another boom in Chinese tourism is expected as the theme park opens its gates to the public. So people should now begin to book cheap flights to get the chance to be the first ones to enjoy this great development.
